They signpost individuals to the most appropriate bereavement service either locally or nationally; provide training, information, events and conferences to people who work in the area of bereavement and campaign to help people talk more openly about dying, death and bereavement.

Swarthmore is a center for lifelong learning, community projects and family learning sessions. Their main aim is to encourage people who want to learn but might not feel comfortable in more formal educational institutions. They work on a friendly, human scale, offering a confidential counselling service, on-site childcare and learning support.
